All Systems Go!

You need systems at any age but when you retire, it’s important to develop systems for your new life. When you work and have a family (if you do) many daily routines are already in place due to necessity, and you need to fit other things around them. For example, you most likely have a fairly organized way to get yourself and your loved ones to work and school, as well as food prep and home maintenance, along with many other things that make a household run.

When you retire, It’s all on you, nobody is going to tell you what time to be at work, what your job will be, your child’s conference schedule etc. Planning your work schedule and you daily schedule around work takes creativity and fortitude for sure, but it’s nothing compared to creating systems for an entirely new life. Generally everybody, including people who work enjoy feeling productive and having a sense of accomplishment. Creating a plan might help you get what you want out of life on your own terms.
